Getting to Know the World Outside the Campus

It is very important and necessary for us university students to know about the society. We have been studying in the “Ivory Tower”① for more than thirteen years and have learned a lot of theoretical② knowledge from books, but we are so inexperienced③ that the moment we step out of the campus, we find ourselves ignorant④ of almost everything in the society.

So it is advisable that we spare some efforts to get to know the world outside the campus right now⑤. Fortunately, the society has offered various opportunities⑥ for us to put into practice what we have learned in school. Community service⑦ and mass media⑧ present us with both challenge and golden chances to practise our ability, through which we can learn to cooperate with people, to contribute⑨ our intelligence to the society. So far as I am concerned, I have managed to find a part-time⑩ job — tutoring11 an orphan. Through this experience, I find I have learned much more than what I could have in school, for I have learned how to deal with people and how to devote my love to people who are in need of12 it.

Therefore, I will not hesitate a moment when confronted with13 a chance to know the society, for I have really benefited a lot from it.

Getting to Know the World Outside the CampusWith the development of our society, the campus no longer is an "Ivory Tower". It is necessary for college students to go outside to get to know the world. They should acquire knowledge not only from books but also from the society. Thus they can adapt to society more quickly after they graduate from school. Science and technology are developing rapidly with each passing day. Most students can keep themselves informed by watching TV, listening to the radio, reading newspapers and using computers. It's also good to take a part-time job, such as tutoring, or working in a restaurant. Any of these methods will enable students to get in touch with society.Summer vacation will soon be here. I've already enrolled to be a volunteer to help others. I think I can do well. Although I won't be paid, the most important thing is that I can learn a lot about society.

my favourite hoilday the spring festival, the most important festival in china. january the twenty-ninth was this year's spring featival. on this day ,i did something special.
i watched tv all night the day before the spring festival. it was a spring gam soirce. it usually very intertesting.at midnight, i counted down the time to new year. i shot firecarker at twelve-four o'clock.
in the next day morning ,i got up early. i decorated my bedroom with colourful balloons and many sashes. after that, i made dumplings. and my father cooked them. eat dumplings is an convention of chinese. it means reunion.
in the afternoon, my family went to my grandparents' home. they cared my homework ,and always talked about it . then my grandparents gave me an rea packet. there were some ,money in it .after that my father talked someting about their health . and i found my old friends to paly.
at night, we had dinner with my aunt ,uncle and cousins in a restaurant.we celebrated the hoilday to each other. and adults talked about their work.
