在我国，一年有很多节日，在这些节日中，我最喜欢春节。这不仅因为它是一年中最大的节日，更因为它是新一年的开始，给人们带来新的希望，也因为它是亲朋好友团聚的时刻。不管身在何方，人们总会在春节前回到家里准备过节。

There are many festivals in China. Among them, I like the Spring Festival most. Not only because it’s the biggest festival in the year, but also because it’s a new beginning that brings hope to people and it’s time for family gathering. Before the festival, people come home no matter where they are. Usually, we have a big dinner on the New Year’s Eve. And then families sit together and share their lives or planes. Some will play games or hang out to have some fun. On the New Year’s Day, people get up early and say good words to anyone they meet. Children can get lucky money from relatives. In the following days, we will visit relative’s home and bring New Year’s wishes to them. In short, it’s a time for family to get together and all of us to enjoy it.

The Spring Festival is the most important festival for Chinese and it's my favorite festival, too. Like Christmas in the West, all people living away from home go back about half a month before the Spring Festival.

The Spring Festival falls on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month.  On Spring Eve, my family watch the Spring Gala together and on the midnight, we set off firecrackers to ring out the old year and ring in the new one. My grandmother told me that Year is a monster so that people play firecrackers to drive it away. I also pay a new year visit to my grandparents and relatives and they always give me some gift money. As a result, I like Spring Festival very much.   Nowadays, more and more people in China begin to celebrate foreign festivals. But I think we shouldn't forget our traditional festivals. They are the culture and customs of China. To be a Chinese, we should know them well and pass them on to the next generations in future!

Thanksgiving Day is one of the most important festivals in America. It’s most closely connected to the earliest history of the country. It is usually stuffed with bread and vegetable to absorb the tasty juices. Of course, turkey is the traditional main course. Christmas is annual festival in western world that is one of the most important festivals for them. Previously, only westerners or Christians celebrate it. But in recent years, more and more Chinese people celebrate it, especially among young people. There are many activities in that day. I think there are the following reasons that make Christmas popular in China. First, it’s a western holiday and it’s new to Chinese. Second, with the development of the world, the mutual influence between China and the west makes it work. Last, the merchants make great contribution to its popularity

We stop watching the CCTV 2008 CCTV Spring Festival gala, and began to climb up the balcony to see the beautiful fireworks view, and my father took some fireworks up, and we also began to play fireworks. What a beautiful night. Later, my cell phone was ringing all the time. I received lots of short messages from my friends and classmates. They all blessed me happy New Year. I gave same bless to them by sending back the happy words. At almost 12 pm, I made a wish in New Year, and began to sleep. When I woke up in the first day of New Year, my father and mother gave two red packets to me, and blessed me that everything will go well on me. I thanked them, and accepted the red packets happily. I have been waiting for the day that I can get lots of red

　　packets. This is my happiest time of the year. After lunch, both my family went to the park, the streets, and the shops or supermarkets. We took many photos in the park, and bought many things in the shops or supermarket. I met my uncles and aunts, they all blessed us happy New Year and gave me red packets. I was too happy to count how many red packets I got. The following days, we visited my grandparents and some of relatives. We happily talk with them, and brought some presents to them, and also received some New Year presents. This was how did I spend my Spring Festival; I really enjoyed myself in Spring Festival.

　　Although a few people once advocated that traditional festivals like the Spring Festival should be discarded because they have become obstacles to social progress.
